Autumn is the perfect time to get a taste of sailing: clear, fresh and with the best opportunities for sporty sailing. If you want to experience wind and waves intensively, get actively involved and cover around 270 nautical miles, then come on board the Oban on her trip from Gothenburg to Kiel.
The cruise starts on Friday evening in Gothenburg. After checking in, you will get to know the ship, crew and fellow sailors. You move into your cabin and spend the first night on board – completely relaxed in the harbor.
On Saturday morning it’s time to cast off! The Oban sets sail and nine intensive days lie ahead of you on the Baltic Sea and in the Kattegat. The route leads along the Danish coast, through the islands of the Danish South Sea and finally into the Kiel Fjord. The exact route planning depends on the wind and weather – real sailing adventures included.
On board, you are part of the crew: setting sails, steering, navigating – everything is explained and you can get involved to the best of your ability. The trip is ideal for gaining sailing experience or earning miles for your sailing license. On request, you will receive an official mileage certificate for approx. 270 nautical miles after the trip.
There may also be longer stages or night trips – typical of real life on board. In between, there is always time to relax: enjoy the view, read a book or follow the waves. You should be physically fit enough to get on and off the boat independently due to anchoring and dinghy rides.
Meals are prepared together – fresh, simple and delicious. In the evening, everyone sits in the cozy salon or enjoys a cup of tea on deck before going to their cabins.
On Sunday afternoon of the following week you reach Kiel – full of new impressions, sea air in your head and experiences recorded in the logbook.
