In August, the Zephyr sets sail on a special voyage: Together, we’ll transport the ship from Paimpol to Amsterdam, sailing along the stunning coastlines of Normandy, northern France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Look forward to varied days at sea, exciting navigation, and the unique experience of being part of a real ship transfer.
On Tuesday evening, the crew will welcome you aboard. After you’ve settled into your cabin and gotten to know your fellow sailors, you’ll have time to enjoy the maritime atmosphere in the Breton port of Paimpol. Before long, it’ll be time to “Cast off!” and the Zephyr will set course for the north.
The route follows the historic Normandy coastline with its striking cliffs, wide beaches, and lively port towns. Depending on the wind, weather, and tides, we may call at various ports along the way. As a transit cruise, the focus is primarily on sailing —ideal conditions for anyone who wants to spend as much time as possible at sea.
Anyone who wishes to can actively participate in life on board and assist the crew with their daily tasks. Whether it’s setting sails, steering, standing watch, or helping with navigation—the experienced crew is happy to share their knowledge. No prior experience is required.
After eventful days of sailing, we enjoy our evenings in select ports along the route or spend the night at sea. Shared meals, good conversation, and life on board are what make this trip so special.
With every nautical mile, the landscape changes: from the rugged Breton coast through Normandy to the flat coasts of the Netherlands. Finally, we reach Amsterdam, where the Zephyr takes up its new berth. You disembark with many nautical miles in your logbook, new experiences, and the special feeling of having been part of a real sailing voyage.
