Ideaal

This robust Frisian Maatkast is unique in the fleet and looks back on an eventful history. The Ideaal was custom-built in 1926 to be able to pass through the small locks of the Frisian inland waterways.

Thanks to her shallow draught, the IDEAAL can sail on the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer, while cruises on the inland waters of Friesland are also possible. From the outside, the sailor still offers a completely authentic look, complete with hatch covers, folding masts and a cozy cockpit.

Below deck, the comfortable and cozy interior immediately catches the eye. The galley is equipped with every comfort and a cozy lounge invites you to linger. The cabins are spacious and bright. They have hot and cold running water and windows that can be opened. On cold days, guests do not have to freeze on board thanks to the central heating.

Despite its sedate, stately appearance, the Ideaal has particularly good sailing characteristics and is in its element, especially in strong winds. A sailing trip on board this ship is certainly a very special experience.
