Midsummer night weekend

When the nights are at their shortest and summer shines in all its glory, it’s time to cast off! Just in time for Midsummer Night, the impressive traditional sailing ship Oban sets sail for a special sailing weekend. Two unforgettable days at sea await you – the perfect opportunity to escape the daily grind and treat yourself to a short, intensive break.

On Friday evening, you will be warmly welcomed on board by the ship’s owners Jolan and Olaf. You will get to know the ship, the crew and your fellow sailors in a relaxed atmosphere. After a restful night in one of the cozy twin cabins and a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning, your sailing adventure begins.

Together with the crew, you will set sail – and if you want, you are welcome to lend a hand. You will be shown all the moves and quickly become part of the crew. The Oban glides over the waves with the power of the wind – sometimes lively, sometimes very calm. While you let your gaze wander over the open water, it’s easy to clear your head and simply be in the moment.

The captain decides where to go on Saturday evening depending on the wind and weather. The sheltered bays and charming little harbors of the Danish South Seas are particularly popular – places where time seems to move a little slower. After docking, a freshly prepared dinner awaits you on board. The sea air makes you hungry – and it tastes all the better in good company. Round off the day together with the crew and your fellow sailors and enjoy the special atmosphere of this bright summer night.

You set sail again on Sunday morning. The return trip to Kiel brings a few more relaxing hours on the water before you arrive back at Blücherbrücke in the afternoon – with a fresh breeze on your face and lots of wonderful memories in your luggage.

This short summer trip may only last a weekend – but it often has a long-lasting effect.
