The NOORDERLICHT, built in 1895, was purchased in 2003 by its current, very experienced captain Johan Moen and given a new lease of life by converting it into a passenger ship. She is one of the largest sailing ships on the Wadden and Ijsselmeer and therefore offers an unusually large amount of space on the upper and lower decks and is particularly suitable for larger groups. For self-catering groups, the spacious and well-equipped kitchen is the ideal place to prepare meals. A particular highlight is the very large, yet extremely cozy saloon with its maritime furnishings, which has a bar and is ideal for social gatherings. It is completely separate from the cabins. In addition, a cozy lounge has been set up in the deckhouse, which is ideal for enjoying the peace and quiet and browsing through a book. There are also more than enough cozy places on deck for beautiful days, of which the hammock above the middle deck, suitable for up to 4 people, is particularly noteworthy. So there is always a suitable place for everyone to relax. Thanks to his decades of experience, Captain Johan has an impressive command of his ship despite its length and never makes his guests feel uneasy.
