In August, it’s “cast off” again on the Stortemelk: a five-day sailing trip from Rostock to Kiel awaits you – the perfect mix of active sailing, relaxed life on board and small discoveries along the Baltic coast.

The cruise begins on Sunday evening in the port of Rostock. After checking in and a warm welcome from the crew, you move into your cabin and get to know your fellow sailors. The route for the coming days is discussed with the captain. Depending on the wind and weather, it is possible to sail via Warnemünde, Heiligenhafen or the Danish South Sea.

The sailing adventure starts on Monday morning after breakfast. After a short briefing on safety and sailing techniques, you will set sail together. If you wish, you can actively help out – with steering, setting sails and maneuvering – or relax on deck and enjoy the view. During the day we sail along the varied coastal landscape, in the evening we moor in small harbors or anchor in sheltered bays. We spend the night in cozy 2- or 3-person cabins on board.

The voyage ends in Kiel on Friday – after five eventful days at sea.

The price includes accommodation in cabins, port charges, fuel costs and final cleaning. Meals are covered by a shared on-board cash box (€125 per person, cash on board). Children sleep in their parents’ cabin. On request , comforters and towels can be rented for € 20 per person.

Sailing skills are not required: the experienced crew will show you all the ropes. Whether actively sailing along or enjoying the peace and quiet at sea – this cruise is the ideal opportunity to experience late summer on the Baltic Sea.

The STORTEMELK was laid down in 1961 as a North Sea fishing vessel and converted into a two-masted schooner with a length of 40 meters in 1992. In the high season, the ship mainly sails from Kiel on the German and Danish Baltic Sea and can often be found in Sweden in July. The STORTEMELK owes its name to the turbulent fairway between the Dutch Wadden Sea islands of Terschelling and Vlieland. The strait with its shallows seemed like foaming milk (Stortemelk) to sailors when the water was running out and a north-westerly wind was blowing. The sleek lines and effective rigging give her a simple sportiness, while the luxurious interior is characterized by comfort. A few years ago, the Stortemelk was extensively refitted with great attention to detail. The conversion has resulted in a completely new sanitary area and three larger double cabins. The Stortemelk not only has plenty of comfortable seating on deck, the ship's saloon also invites you to socialize. The adjoining galley is superbly equipped. The very experienced and dedicated owners Mike and Marly exude the belief that sailing is their life. They also ensure that the ship is in top condition at all times. This guarantees an unforgettable sailing adventure.
