On Friday evening, you’ll get to know your crew and fellow sailors over a casual snack and discuss the sailing strategy for the race. After a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning, it’s time to cast off! — The Tiessen Race 2026 will start around 11 a.m.
Together with your crew, you’ll enjoy exciting sailing sessions and compete against other tall ships. No sailing experience is required —the experienced crew will show you the ropes and guide you throughout the entire race.
In the evening, there will be an awards ceremony for the fastest boat. Afterward, you’ll wind down the day in good company on deck—with fresh sea air, music, and a maritime atmosphere. On Sunday morning, you’ll sail back to Kiel at a leisurely pace.
