Imagine this: You sail out into the Wadden Sea on a traditional tall ship, the water slowly recedes – and suddenly you are standing on the seabed. This natural phenomenon is called falling dry – and you’re right up close to it!
The Wadden Sea has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009 – alongside natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef. It is a place full of life, space and magic – perfect for mudflat hiking, marveling and discovering.
Together with the skipper and sailors, you will sail to one of the most beautiful places in the Wadden Sea during a day trip. Your guided mudflat hike begins there: barefoot through the mudflats, accompanied by exciting stories and fascinating insights into this unique ecosystem.
You watch the sea disappear, walk across the seabed, enjoy your dinner on board – while only 30 centimeters of water glisten under the ship – and watch as the tide slowly returns. If the wind and tide allow, you can set sail again at the end.
Mudflat hiking and falling dry – a nature experience you will never forget.
