Sailing in the Wadden Sea – slowing down under sail

Just imagine: You’re standing on deck, feeling the wind on your face, breathing in the salty sea air. The Wadden Sea stretches out before you – a world of water, light and space. This is exactly where your journey begins: a relaxed, enjoyable week under sail. For five days, you leave everyday life behind you, follow the wind and tides and experience the Wadden Sea as you can only discover it from the water.

On board, the crew will give you a warm welcome – with freshly brewed coffee and a Frisian treat. You move into your cozy cabin, get to know your fellow passengers and enjoy your first evening in a relaxed atmosphere. Everyday life? Stay ashore.

The next morning, the captain discusses the route – because the wind and tides determine the course in the Wadden Sea. Every day is different, every stage a little adventure. Then it’s time to cast off! Whether you actively help set the sails or simply enjoy the breeze is entirely up to you.

Your first destination is often Vlieland – with dunes, forests and wide beaches. Here you can stroll through the charming village, go cycling or simply enjoy the peace and quiet. In the evening, a freshly prepared dinner awaits you on board before you experience the starry sky over the sea.

A special highlight follows the next day: falling dry on a sandbank. As the water slowly recedes, the ship gently sinks to the seabed. Suddenly there is silence – and you walk barefoot across the mudflats where there was just water. A magical moment that you will never forget.

Depending on the wind and weather, you sail on to Terschelling or Ameland. Clear air, waving sea grasses, endless horizons – the Wadden Sea shows its most beautiful side here. No wonder this trip is one of our absolute classics.

You enjoy full board on board: all meals and snacks are freshly prepared – vegetarian or vegan on request. Water, tea, coffee and milk are included, and other drinks are available on board at a reasonable price. And because sailing is teamwork, you are welcome to help with chopping vegetables or washing up.

Your cabin is comfortably and functionally furnished – with a bunk bed, mirror and washbasin. Bed linen and towels are included. You can share the cabin with a fellow traveler of the same sex or book a cabin for yourself for an extra charge. In the saloon, books, games and music invite you to enjoy a cozy get-together.

After five days at sea, you take more with you than just fond memories: Wind in your hair, salt on your skin and a feeling of deep calm.
