Take the opportunity and come aboard a traditional tall ship – for an adventure right in the heart of the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Within 24 hours, you will experience how sailing, falling dry and mudflat hiking merge in a unique way – a real nature experience that you won’t soon forget.
The Wadden Sea, characterized by the constant rhythm of high and low tide, offers perfect conditions for a special kind of sailing trip.
You will board in Harlingen at midday and receive a warm welcome from the crew. After a brief introduction to life on board, it’s time to cast off! The sails are set and the tall ship sets course for the open mudflats.
After a relaxing sailing trip, the ship drops anchor – and the water slowly recedes. As you stand on deck, the ship gently lays on its side and “falls dry”. A huge sandbank stretches out in front of you – perfect for a mudflat hike directly from the ship.
When the sun goes down, the water returns. You enjoy the special silence of the night, the gentle lapping around the ship – and sleep deeply and relaxed in your bunk.
The next morning you set sail again with the tide: together you set sail and return to Harlingen – with fresh wind, sand on your shoes and unforgettable memories.
