Sailing Trip to the Hanse Sail

Sailing Trip to the Hanse Sail – Pure Schlager on the
Regina Maris!

Actually, we’d planned a classic, laid-back day at the Hanse Sail. My friends and I—a leisurely stroll through the grounds, a few drinks, good food, and just kicking off the weekend together. The weather couldn’t have been better: a mild summer day, sunshine, a light breeze, and, of course, a great atmosphere.

Segeln auf dem Schiff Regina Maris

From a spontaneous idea to a cherished memory

As we were strolling along the stalls at the city harbor, the friendly staff at Traditional Sailing Charter (TSC) spontaneously approached us and asked if we’d like to join the Schlager cruise on the Regina Maris. It was as if they’d known or read our minds—the three of us are secret Schlager fans—well, okay, not really that secret; after all, we’d been to a Roland Kaiser concert just two months ago. So we didn’t have to think twice. The idea was a perfect fit for the day, so we didn’t hesitate for long and booked the tickets.

So things were set to kick off at 6 p.m. Along with our tickets, we received some exciting information about the traditional tall ships, which were impressively moored right across from the booth—which, of course, really ramped up our anticipation. The TSC staff member also told us that we were lucky to have snagged the last tickets for the cruise—so the god of pop music was on our side. Still, we’ll make a note for next year to buy tickets online in advance to be on the safe side!

Anticipation—you could hear

Before boarding, we grabbed a quick, delicious cheese döner to fuel up. The Hanse Sail really does offer the perfect snack for every taste—at every booth, we were lured by a new, delicious aroma. But since time was running out, we had to resist the temptations and make our way to the dock.

The Regina Maris was moored right at the city harbor, just a few meters from the TSC booth. The impressive three-masted ship was hard to miss. You could hear the pop music even from a distance, which really ramped up the excitement.

Cast off, heading toward the sunset

Once on board, we were warmly welcomed with a summery cocktail. We found a spot in the cozy seating area, and after all the guests had boarded, the captain gave a brief safety briefing. Then the Regina Maris set sail, heading out toward the Baltic Sea and the sunset.

Pop music and sea air—an unbeatable combination

With Maite Kelly, Roland Kaiser, Mickie Krause, and many others performing, along with the view of the water gliding by, it was a wonderful way to unwind. We danced, laughed, sang along, and, of course, enjoyed a cocktail or two. Of course, we were also able to request our own music, which the crew was happy to play for us.

On the Warnow River, we sailed past Warnemünde and out onto the Baltic Sea, where we took a lap and watched the sun sink below the horizon before heading back to the city harbor. A special highlight was that we got to help set the sails—not as easy as it sounds, but definitely an experience.

I’d say Schlager music, sailing, and the sea—an unbeatable combination that we can recommend to anyone.

Memories That Last

Back at the city harbor, the crew gave us a warm send-off, and we plunged back into the lively hustle and bustle of the Hanse Sail. The evening was still young, and the Hanse Sail had plenty of entertainment and shows to offer on its many stages—things we didn’t want to miss.

It was an all-around wonderful day that we’re sure will stay with us for a long time.
We’re already looking forward to the next Hanse Sail.
