Waddenzee

The historic two-masted clipper Waddenzee, which was built back in 1885, is one of the oldest sailing ships of its kind still in service. Originally designed as a robust cargo ship, it was carefully and extensively converted into a cozy and comfortable sailing ship for guests many years later. Today, the Waddenzee takes you from Harlingen to the Wadden Islands, to picturesque IJsselmeer towns or to a sandbank where you can experience the fascinating experience of falling dry up close.

On board, you immediately notice how much space this ship offers. The Waddenzee is extremely spacious both on deck and below deck. A cozy seating area, the high railing and the wide gangways create a relaxed and safe environment in which families with children also feel at home. Below deck, you will find a tastefully furnished day room with a bar, beer dispenser, central heating, stereo system, a small on-board library and various games to play together.

The fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering easy. A six-burner gas stove, a large 400-liter refrigerator, an 80-liter freezer and two sinks provide everything you need to prepare your meals. The cabins are also comfortably furnished and have washbasins with hot and cold water, central heating, 220-volt connections and plenty of storage space for personal items. The beds are equipped with sheets and pillows; all you need to bring is a sleeping bag or rent a comforter for € 15.00 per stay.

For your daily comfort, there are three showers and three toilets on board so that you are well looked after at all times during your trip and can enjoy your time on the Waddenzee to the full.
