Harbor map & arrival

Your sailing trip starts in Kiel at the Blücherbrücke. Address: Blücherbrücke, 24105 Kiel

Arrival by train:
Train journey to Kiel main station. Then on foot (approx. 35 minutes), by bus (bus stop “Institut für Weltwirtschaft”) or by cab (approx. 5 minutes from the main station).

Arrival by car:
Under no circumstances may cars drive on the bridge!!! For all repeaters: This is a change by the police in contrast to previous years. Exit on the “Bernhard-Harms-Weg”. Footpath approx. 70m. Parking is available in the surrounding streets (free parking) or in the parking garages at the main station. In general, parking facilities are very limited and we recommend traveling by public transport.

Catering & galley

Frühstücksbuffet an Bord eines Traditionsseglers
“Join-in full board”: On our sailing trips you book our “join-in full board” and, as the name suggests, all sailors also help out in the galley. In addition to the fun teamwork, really tasty dishes are conjured up.   There is a fully equipped kitchen on all ships. If you bring your own food due to allergies/intolerances, there are sufficient cooling facilities on board. Nevertheless, please inform us if you have not already done so, so that the ship’s crew can prepare for this.

Drinks & dispensing system

Water:

The tap water on board almost all our ships is drinking water (exception: “Zuiderzee” and “Albert Johannes”). Please take a reusable bottle with you to fill up on your own and refrain from bringing water from plastic bottles.

Coffee/tea:

Coffee and tea are included in your sailing trip.

Other drinks:

All other drinks (soft drinks, beer, wine, etc.) can be purchased on board at fair prices. Drinks are paid for in cash on board at the end of your sailing trip.

Itinerary/ Possible destinations & ports

“We sail wherever the wind takes us.” This statement is often ridiculed in advance, but it is 100% true. All our ships are traditional sailing vessels and the port of destination is determined by the wind and weather. For this reason, we recommend that all our guests do not commit themselves too much to specific ports of destination in advance, but rather agree these with the captain on board from day to day in the morning.

Of course, there are possible destinations that your starting port normally calls at. You can find them here: https://www.t-s-c.de/infos/segelgebiete/

As a rule, departure takes place in the morning between 09 – 11 a.m. and the port of destination is reached in the afternoon/early evening.

Possible additional costs on board

Cash on board:
Please check your booking confirmation to see whether the cash on board is shown separately. If this is the case, it will be paid in cash on board when you embark.

If not, the catering is already listed as an inclusive service and the on-board cash is therefore included in the travel price.

Drinks:
As already described above, the other drinks are paid in cash on board after consumption at the end of the sailing trip.

Problem solutions

We want to pull together with you! And that doesn’t just apply on board our sailing ships when hoisting and hauling in the sails.

If there is a problem during your sailing trip, please do not be afraid to talk to the crew about it. This is the only way the crew of the ship can react directly and work on solving the problem.

These can be technical problems (e.g. a non-functioning drain) or personal issues. We want you to have a good and enjoyable time on board and are happy to work with you if there are any discrepancies or defects.
